Synopsis

Album Description
Sacred Spaces is a meditative and sublime excursion of quiet rumination with exotic flute melodies elegantly interwoven against an ambient landscape of acoustic guitar, harp and gentle hypnotic percussion. A peaceful and soothing collection, this CD is ideal for massage, meditation or relaxation with a varied range of influences and musical styles. Steven has lived a life devoted to music, healing and inner peace influenced by Native American cultures as well as cultures from the Far East. It?s been his desire to achieve a unique and new form of musical expression, with the use of various ethnic instruments, to inspire, heal and to ?create beauty beyond words to touch deeply in places yet unknown?. "Through all my journey?s both inner and outer, music has been an essential part of my spiritual sustenance. It is my intention to create music that reflects the passion I feel for life. Music that expresses the soul?s longings and gently, yet deeply, touches the listener." --- Steven DeRuby

CD Reviews

Truly Excellent

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Simply put, this is one of my favorite CDs for ambient listening. Maybe it's due to my limited exposure to the genre, but the tracks possess a quality that, to me, is genuinely unique, fulfilling, and thought-evoking. It's perfect for ambient music while sleeping or doing routine activity, but it's also rich and intriguing enough to be worth purely listening to on its own merit. Whatever the reason, the sounds really resonate with me and this has been one of the best CD purchases I've made in recent years. I'd definitely recommend this if you are into New Age, meditation, or "relaxation"-style music, but I should think the music possesses enough artistic merit to be pleasing to someone who may not be as receptive to the genre. A definite 5 stars."
