A genius worthy of Weill...finally...

"Allfolter approaches Weill with the same no-nonsense, visceral and unsentimental clarity that is required of an artist creating Loge in Twilight of the Gods, along with the enigmatic sensitivy of the Act III Tristan. Throw in the gift of being able to belt one out with the best of them and it works. It works Big Time. This man is a genius. Not even Lenya delivers the Bilbao Song so well -- and I felt, in 2002, that I was hearing September Song for the first time. There isn't one clunker on the whole c/d.Magnificent. Who is this man? where has he been all our lives?"
