Album Description

Out now as part of High Vaultage's renowned "Rule Britannia" series, dedicated to bringing long-lost recordings from the glorious "New Wave Of British Heavy Metal" era back into the light, this is the first official reissue of Birmingham's renowned Starfighters' legendary 1981 first album. With a sound owing more than just a little nod to Australian rock & roll legends AC/DC and Rose Tattoo, most likely fueled by rhythm guitarist Stevie Young's family ties to AC/DC's Angus and Malcolm Young (Young even replaced the latter on the second leg of the Aussie great's 1988 US tour), the Starfighters were - and still are - not only a sure pleaser for NWOBHM aficionados but for each and everyone who likes his rock dirty and mean. Three non-LP bonus tunes, including both tracks from their ultra-rare 1980 debut 7" single ("I'm Falling" / "Heaven Hell") and the scarce B-side "Rock 'Em Dead", have been added to the LP's original 10-song-set.

"Like the previous reviewer commented..FINALLY this is on CD! I have looked for it off and on for years wondering if it would ever be released as a CD. I was even asking a woman in Australia to look for it for me when we realized it was available - only 2 copies left when I ordered. I, too, still play my original album when I want to hear this classic. Is simply great 3 chord rock and roll. Straight ahead...no muss...no fuss. I was lucky enough to see them open for AC/DC back in the day. I was also lucky enough to see AC/DC with Bon Scott on their first US jaunt and Rose Tattoo on their "Scarred for Life" tour. Man, I'm old. Note to Amazon: Isn't the first track entitled "Alley Cat Blues" and not "Alley Cat Scream"?"

"I've been waiting for this LP to come out on CD for 20 years. Recorded it myself from my copy of the Album (which I still have) but a professional CD is better.

This is a classic album and brings true rock and roll to those who appreciate the real thing. AC/DC with Bon Scott, Rose Tattoo and Starfighters...it doesn't get much better than that. I'm getting my copy before they run out. But mine won't be for sale when they do. This one is a keeper for life."
