CD Reviews

Genuine bluegrass gospel music from one of the all time best
08/21/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The stanley brothers singing gospel music - is there anything better or more heart felt? Carter and Ralph's vocals blending together is truely some of the finest bluegrass music. The stanley brothers are definitely true pioneers. This one should be in everyone's collection."
No FLUFF, just pure, "from the heart" Gospel Bluegrass

"I was introduced to the Stanley brothers by hearing their song "Angel Band" on the O Bother Where Art thou? soundtrack. After doing just a little research, I quickly realized they were the real deal. Ralph and Carter Stanley have a collection here of true and pure, soulful memories that must savored time and time again. This music stirs memories of my parents and grandparents, camp meetings, week long revivals and of a simpler time.
I realize this collection will be too un-sophisticated for many who listen. But not me. I'll be buying more from these guys."
The One That Started the Quest for More Bluegrass

"My Bluegrass addiction has become out-of-control and it started with this one. The beautiful harmony of the Stanley Brothers is what defined "High Lonesome" for me, beginning with the song "Rank Strangers." Every song on this CD will stay in your mind at one time or another the more you listen to it."
