CD ReviewsGreat Memories of 1950's Jazz Juan Robertson | Seattle, WA | 05/15/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "My mother bought this album in 1954 on the basis of a Nat Hentoff review (she was a classics admirer). Once I played it (in 33 rpm vinyl) I bagged it and she rarely got to see it again. It started my 50 year interest in Jazz.
The sound on this release is very good, but many listeners will be disappointed by there being just five bands. It is very listenable - and very smooth. Getz at his best and extraordinary at the time of release." |
