CD Reviews

They Blew Up San Francisco!
PHILIP S WOLF | SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA. USA | 12/18/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Spot 1019 is a four man band of very good musicans from the city by the bay, that appeared in the mid 1980's... and went somewhere else by the mid 1990's.

I had four of their releases of cassette, and I played those tapes until they melted! A mixer of punky fury, good humor and very accomplished musical abilities, this was a very entertaining bunch, and this lively music is well worth a bit of ear time.

The reason that I chose: "This World Owes Me A Buzz" to review is simple. It is the best record that this group released. With: "Bucket Of Blood", "Love's Pillary", "Bonehead" and "Peace War", these little ditties will be a big hit at your next Bible study group. With the off-key screams and raves of singer: Joe Sloan, and the fantastic guitar of that legend: Peter Tropodi, these guys are far above what you might expect from punk/poppers. A lot of music of 2007, is in the fashion of Spot 1019, but... almost all of this new stuff is junk when compared to Spot.

If humor and great playing has a home in your music collection. Get a Buzz! These guys can really rock, and are heaps of fun...

Highly Recommended !!!"
