Synopsis

Album Description
Digitally remastered and expanded deluxe two CD edition of the British New Romantic/Pop band's 1981 debut album bursting with bonus material. One of the most successful and enduring groups of the New Romantics-era, Spandau Ballet have shown they can still draw the fans with 2009's sold out UK tour and their latest album Once More going straight in at #7 last October. Disc One features the remastered album alongside the original 7'' versions of singles, 'The Freeze', 'Musclebound' and it's b-side 'Glow'. Disc Two brings together the original 12'' mix of their first single, 'To Cut A Long Story Short', further 12'' remixes of 'The Freeze' and 'The Glow' and a previously unreleased BBC Session from March 1981. EMI. 2010.

CD Reviews

BETTER THAN TRUE
Scott C Elliott | New York City, NY | 01/29/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This early grouping of songs made the band what it was - one of the romantic movement's greats, until they penned the song 'True' and ruined it all. Give this one a spin and you'll soon see why. Pay particular attention to "To Make A Long Story Short" & the incredible club fave "Muscle Bound". This CD almost makes you want to out & get an asymetrical haircut & some eyeliner. DON'T DO IT!!!! But do pick this up if you can find it!!!"
Their best album

"I bought this on vinyl 23 years ago and then purchased on CD as IMHO it's their best album. This is the only album I own by the Spandau Ballet as all subsequent albums were a little too "pop" for my taste. Don't get me wrong, all their albums are good, but this is their best."
