CD Reviews1st rate commercial & corny western swing... why why why | why | 08/26/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "Though this is in no way as great as anything by Bob Wills or Milton Brown, it is 1st rate "middle of the road" pop western swing. As a matter of fact these sides do swing, and if the accordian was missing we'd have some pretty hot western swing. The music is pleasing, once you get used to the accordian, and if you like western swing, you might as well pick up one Cooley cd, and this is as good as any. CONSUMER GUIDISM: The earlier the recording by Spade Cooley(30's-40's) the better, and less commercial. This cd is a good palce to start while exploring Spade's more accesible style of watered down western swing, but it's still loads of fun, and it does swing!"
