CD Reviews

The best of the Soulstance CD's

"First, it's a bit confusing the way Soulstance's Cd's are organized. So like I said in another review, this is their second album, "Act On" is their first release and "Truth, Simplicity and Love" is Schema (the label) American release which is a sort of "Best of Soulstance". All three albums are great - but this one is by far had better tracks than Act On. Truth Simplicity and Love pretty much had the best of Act On so that's the best buy, if you've never been exposed to Soulstance or heard their work in the Break N Bossa compilations. Hope I wasn't too confusing. So if you only get one Soulstance Album, however, this is the one. It's great! Nice tracks, very smooth, and I liked it even better than "T,S and L". The sound of Soulstance is lounge. Sometimes it wans in and out of funk, but more than anything it's pretty much musical and chilled - Bossa Nova/Italia. Think a mix between S-Tone Inc., Nicola Conte and Los Ladrones "Montana Rusa" album. Sometimes it will remind you of a summer themed soundtrack from the 60's. Great tunes, great albums and I'm really enjoying this CD."
