"True, it's an unlikely combination, but Thomas Brinkmann just about manages to make his glitch techno / motown crossover work. And what a curious beast it is, too - like some pasty-faced mate of funky house who dances funny and never gets the girls. You shudder to imagine people actually trying to get down to this music, but Soul Center represents an oddly compelling listen nonetheless."
