"Sonny Criss was a vibrant, fantastic master of the alto saxophone, and this live recording in Italy once again verifies his greatness. Sonny was the most soulful storyteller on the alto ever - period. His playing on this recording should be recommended listening for every young alto player in the world today. Sonny was totally dedicated to the songs he performed throughout his career and this recording is further proof of his complete devotion to the music he chose to play and to his alto. This is a recording not to be missed!
