Great Twentieth Century Compositions

"Does anyone know the "claim to fame" of Ginastera's "Concerto For Piano and Orchestra" found on this album? Its fourth movement (track number 8 on this CD) was the basis for Emerson, Lake and Palmer's "Tocatta" found on their BRAIN SALAD SURGERY album. That's one reason to buy this recording, but by far the most important one is that Ginastera is an underappreciated, undeservedly obscure 20th century composer. If you enjoy Prokofiev or Shostakovitch, you'll find plenty to appreciate here, although this is (understandably) coming from a different nationalistic bent...Ginastera was Argentine."
