Social Distortion have been rocking for decades now. And this is one of their cds you shouldn't pass up. While the cd isn't as 'punk' as some of their earlier works, it still is a nice shot of rock and roll.
The song 'I Was Wrong' was probably their biggest hit from the album, and it's a great tune, but please don't overlook the rest of the songs. Good cd and worth adding to your collection.

I Shouldn't Have Waited So Long!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Back in the early 90's I was a freak for new music. You could catch me at my local independently owned music store on release day like clockwork. I remember the girl behind the counter recommended Social Distortion's Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell so I bought it. I still have the original cd and it has been listened to a ton. I still put it up there with my favorite's of all time. The funny thing is, I never bought another cd by this phenomenal band and I don't know why. Well yesterday while browsing through the used cd's at the same store (in like it's fifth different location since back in the day) I decided to pick up White Light, White Heat, White Trash. God I'm an idiot. Why don't I have this band's whole catalog? I'm definitely going to work on it. The first song Dear Lover is one of the best and most lyrically emotional I have ever heard. What a classic. All I can say to people who have not heard this band or Mike Ness's lyrics, do yourself a favor. This band sounds so much better than most of the alternative crap bands that are coming out left and right. This is one of those bands where you can just buy an album by them and know that you will like it without ever having heard any of it yet. Time to make up for lost time and I will definitely be getting as much SD as I can get my hands on. Also, kind of off topic, but for true music lover's, nothing beats going to an individually owned mom and pop type music store. I cannot stand the download everything world we are headed toward. I dread the day when music stores altogether are no more. If we don't start letting our displeasure be known and stand up for and support these stores they will be gone. I can literally spend hours in them just looking at everything. The selection is really great and if they don't have something they can get it promptly. I'm lucky to have a town locally that has three of these stores. Anyway get a SD disc and enjoy truly great rock and roll."
