CD Reviews

Good to have the focus back

"Everyone has their preferred Snuff time period. As much as i respect their early stuff, i enjoy their post-Guns N Wankers the most. Demma was great, Tweet was as good, but then they sort of rutted out with Numb Nuts, not that it was garbage, just a disappointment, as if they'd lost focus and been content to retread old ground. I was afraid to write them off, but then they storm back with this 9-song ep which held fans over quite nicely until the release of Disposable Income (slated currently for a March 2k3 USA release, and NOT on Fat).Don't mix up this great ep with stuff like Schminkie Minkie Pinkie, which was really just a single with a few odds tacked on. This really holds its own as a great album, even with the 2 "new versions" (Ichola Buddha from Reach, and Night Of The Li's from Snuff Said) and the 2 ending great-sounding live tunes. A few standouts, a couple instros, especially Blue Gravy, and it's a whopper of an ep. Almost like they woke up and decided to put the gusto back into things. And if you're curious, the new stuff (Disposable Income) is a slight turn for the better, getting a little more diverse but still as rocking as ever.I have long since ceased my amazement at how more people haven't caught on to them, it's really their loss, but Snuff continues onward, seemingly incapable of not getting better. Here's to one of the best punk bands on the planet."
