CD Reviews

Classic Whitesnake sound
Mario Elizondo | Monterrey,Mexico | 01/11/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Could'n ask for anything better. Through the years Whitesnake earned a reputation of good rockin', mixing some hard rock with blues due to the influence of their guitarists, Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody, now with this album and with the voice of Johnny Lange, we can tell now how the old Whitesnake would sound these days. "Showdown" could be "Blind man" or "What love can do" could be "Here I go again".Excellent music, old Whitesnake fans wouldn't regret buying it."
Nothing beats the original
Tomas Lange | S-141 44 Huddinge Sweden | 02/09/2001

"Being introduced to this CD by a friend who tried to convince me that "it sounds as the good ol' Snakes and you can't tell it isn't David at the microphone", I was pretty exicted when I put it in my DVDplayer. And what came out??!! Well,to be honest, I was perplexed. If someone should have told me that this was "lost tapes" from the 70-80'ies I would have been fooled!! Jorn Lande is extremely "Coverdale-like" and the songwriting and production is very good. However, after listening at it several times I started feeling pretty sceptic. Not only does Lande sount (almost) like Coverdale, he has also copied his way of writing lyrics (just listen to the track "Showdown"). And suddenly I got a somewhat bad taste in my mouth - the conclusion is that the saying 'nothing can be better than the original' goes for this one to!! After listening to the old Whitesnake albums and the recent work by Coverdale it comes very clear that Lande lacks the dynamics and depths that are so characteristic for Coverdale. A good album, yes, but at the same time a piece of work that tries to be something it can't really live up to. Tomas Lange"
FOR WHITESNAKE FANS

"The Snakes singer (Johnny L.) is 100% David Coverdale, and the Whitesnakes fans will love this CD. Para los Fans de Whitesnake de la epoca de READY AND WILLING... la voz del Cantante de Snakes es exactamente igual a la de David. CD Altamente recomendado. Las guitarras la llevan Micky Moody y Bernie Mardsen (viejos conocidos de la serpiente blanca). No suena a nada nuevo, pero suena a Whitesnake... que mas se puede pedir!"
