CD Reviews

Not, a good buy if not a huge fan

"This, is of course a talking CD, and contains no music. So if you're someone who doesn't already have all the Smashing Pumpkins albums, your money is better invested in that. But, if your wishing to expand your already extensive colloction. It contains interviews from all four members, including information about their childhood, starting the band, and about what has happened to them up to 1995. Not the best topics, but still gives good insight into the band"
Certainly not for everybody.

"I already had every Smashing Pumpkins album a week ago when I ordered "In Conversation". When I recieved it and took the CD out of it's box and turned it over I saw that it had a silouette of the band, and the title again but no track listing. It also had a sticker on the back which said "Made in England" and also on the back was 1995 "Not a Hut" release, it was then that I realised that I was holding in my hands an unnoficial bootleg! There was also somthing else that urked me, the CD had a very pixellated picture of the cover, the booklet is blank and it appered that somone had taken a black marker to the part after "London" where the release date would have been. I found out why later when Billy stated "This is our last show of 1992"! Aside from the asthetics I feel that it is important to note that the CD is a single track and 49.39 minutes which can be annoying when trying to find a particular spot. It is only dialect between Billy and a British woman (I think she was flirting with him), and no other band members (you can hear people milling around in the background, it sounds like they were in a cafe or somthing). There is also a poor sound quality. It sounds like a poor LP transfer and the break in the middle of the CD (~24 minutes) leads me to belive that it exactly that!. On the booklet's cover they call this a picture disk but I have tried many programs however the only file on this CD is the interview.I was ripped off."
