"As a jazz trombonist, I find this CD absolutely incredible. "Lament", a popular J.J. Johnson tune, is expressed wonderfully on this album. "Impossible Waltz" is fun to listen to, and to me, sounds a bit like Conrad Herwig in some aspects. Perhaps Herwig listened to a little Slide growing up? Slide's version of "Chop Suey" is so clean and fast; it clearly shows Slide's virtuosity on the trombone. "Mellow-Dy" sounds FULL. The reverb on the track takes away slighty from the clean articulations, but also seems to make it seem to come alive. "The Thing" just has a nice groove. Anyone can dig it. The final track, "Us Six", is another finger-splitter (or should I say "arm-puller"?), but Slide easily makes the chord changes heard.Once again, I would recommend this CD to anyone. I even like how it only has six tracks.. for some reason, that seems to be enough."
