One of Sleepy Labeef's Best

"It is a commonplace of Sleepy Labeef lore that no single disc has ever done justice to the experience of hearing Mr. Labeef live. Maybe so. This disc, though, manages to capture much of the excitement and variety of a live Sleepy LaBeef performance. The singing and playing are inspired throughout, the choice of material is excellent, and the sound production is wonderful. I especially enjoy Mr. LaBeef's take on the country material on this album. If there were any justice in the music business universe, this recording would be nominated for best country album (maybe best blues album as well). Oh well, as Sleepy reminds us on this excellent album, "tomorrow never comes.""
