Roots is Sleepy LaBeef's first offering in nearly a decade and it could be one of his best in his long, storied career. The pristine recordings highlight Sleepy's unique voice while he strums his Martin acoustic guitar as he rolls through favorites like In The Pines, Completely Destroyed and Foggy River. LaBeef, who is known as the 'Human Jukebox', handpicked these tracks (a robust total of 17!) from his repertoire of thousands of songs. Each song that he chose for the session has a special meaning to him and that meaning is evident in the passion he brings to every track. In addition to the vocals and acoustic guitar, LaBeef also plays the Dobro guitar, bass and drums on the tracks, as well as producing and mixing the session.
