CD ReviewsGood solid rock album Justin Gaines | Northern Virginia | 08/22/2007 (3 out of 5 stars) "1989's Kings of Noise was the second (and final) album from the Slammin' Watusis, a rocking, if poorly named, band active towards the end of the 1980's. Despite the band's punk rock origins, Kings of Noise is a pretty straightforward rock & roll album, similar to what bands like Royal Court of China and the Neighborhoods were releasing at the time. It's a bit grittier than most pop/rock albums, but doesn't really venture into L.A. Guns territory.
Kings of Noise is a good, solid rock & roll album, but there isn't a lot that sets it apart from the rest of the pack. It's the kind of album that you should definitely grab if you see it for a couple of bucks, and one that you'll enjoy while you're listening to it, but it won't stick around in your head after you're done playing it. NOTE: Despite the track listing provided above, the CD version of Kings of Noise contains 10 songs, which are as follows: 1. Livin' in Sin 2. Hush 3. Madness & Mania 4. She's a Looker 5. Goin' Home 6. Endless Conversation 7. Born in Chicago 8. Everytown 9. Live for Danger 10. Eight Ball " |
