CD Reviews

Cherry Red label keeps the long out of print SAW stuff comin
Daniel W. Kelly | Long Island, NY United States | 11/04/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This release is really unbelievable for those collectors of classic SAW tracks and 12" mixes by artists other than Kylie, Rick Astley, Donna Summer and Dead or Alive. So many SAW productions have yet to make it to CD, but after releasing Princess, Lonnie Gordon, and Mandy Smith, Cherry Red Records now pulls out all the stops with tons of Sinitta tracks, including an entire second disc of 12" versions. Sure, there are several remixes left out for some of these songs, but to have so many of them actually on CD is nothing to complain about. Disc one is predominantly radio edits with just a few 12" versions, and disc two is ALL 12" mixes, some of which were never even commercially released. There are also some new mixes and a new track called "The Day You Say Goodbye" that has been mixed purposely by Pete Hammond to sound like a classic track from the SAW hey day.

Slammin' track list aside, this disc is also fantastic sound quality, capturing all the hi-nrg bass and drum sequences that make SAW productions such a classic sound. Track list and times:

Lovin' This Trip Back in Time

"Clocking in at the maximum number minutes allowed on CDs, Sinitta's newly remastered catalogue is released in a spectacular collection. My only complaint is that extended mixes of "So Macho," "Cruising," and "Feels Like the First Time" are left off to make room for some of her lesser known pop confections. Still, to have all these songs on one album feels like a windfall. Word is Sinnitta's back in the studio working on new material. Fingers crossed for a comeback better than the recent lackluster effort by Sonia. My advice: You can't go wrong getting this. Enjoy!"
Great Job!

"Finally, a comprehensive collection from Sinitta. I met her in while I was in London back in the 90's. She was so nice. I'm glad to see she is back in the spotlight. From my understanding, this is a special edition, and the regular one cd version with a two different tracks will be out in Jan."
