Synopsis

Product Description
Having built a strong underground
following thanks to four EPs, three
consecutive stints on the Warped Tour and an online presence that earned the group a spot on MySpace's Top 10 Unsigned Bands, Single File makes its full-length album debut with Common Struggles. Produced by Howard Benson (Daughtry, All- American Rejects, My Chemical Romance), Common Struggles showcases the band's supremely catchy yet wonderfully bittersweet songs. Common Struggles sends Single File to the head of the line of rising Modern Rock bands.

CD Reviews

Amazing Band - Great CD
A Reader from Delaware | 04/20/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I have been a fan of Single File for a long time and I was really looking forward to the release of this new CD. It was hard for me to pick a favorite, but I think I'll have to go with "Dear Meghan". I also really loved "Blue Sky Happiness", "Don't Hate", "Girlfriends", and "Mannequin Loveseat". "Miss Cherry Lipgloss" and "Melody of You" are also really good. And then there is "Zombies Ate My Neighbors", an old favorite of mine, which has been extremely popular in Colorado for quite some time. I completely disagree with the reviewer who gave this CD only 1 star and I think that people should really think before they go trashing someone's work (if you look, a lot of this person's reviews are negative). The music in "Zombies" is outstanding, and the lyrics are kind of quirky, but in a good way. What I love about this band is that they are not afraid to be different. This band is very talented and their songs are musically interesting and don't all sound the same like a lot of the other modern bands. Sloan Anderson's voice is incredible - I can only describe it as being gently mesmerizing. This is DEFINITELY A CD WORTH BUYING!!!!"
Not a bad first release!

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Living in Denver and knowing where this band comes from, this isn't a bad first album at all. Some of the songs could set themselves apart from others in the same genre a bit more, but their are definitely stand outs.

Girlfriends, Miss Cherry Lipgloss, Melody of you, and Zombies Ate My Neighbors are the songs that really make this album for me. Most of the lyrics are well written and insightful. Unlike the previous reviewer, I think "Zombies" is a really fun song. I don't think is has to "make sense", that's not really the point.

I totally recommend the four songs I named, but the whole album is worth a listen."
