A Pleasant Surprize

"At first you might think this pairing of John Klemmer and Oscar to be a bit unusual-and it is. What you find however, are two artists who complement each other beautifully. With the ocean in the backround throughout, these two cover an interesting range of material in an informal jam format. Worth buying if you can find it."

Recorded in 1978 on a beach, literally for kicks, the effect is beautiful. It is both Live, and incredibly 'present' as well. Oscar Castro-Neves does a wonderful solo rendition of "Bonita" to begin, and then Klemmer arrives on "My Funny Valentine" and the simpatico between both players and surroundings begins in earnest. A truly unique and wonderful recording - and REALLY well mastered for the best sound I ever heard coming from a night at the beach..."
