Synopsis

Album Details
Sylvia Telles was Arguably the Most Talented Brazilian Vocalist of the Fifties and Sixties and was Indeed the First Bossa Nova Singer in Brazil. The Much-cherished Sylvia Telles Dedicated her Short Career to One Man: Antonio Carlos Jobim. Jobim was the Supreme Composer of his Generation and the Admiration was Reciprocal with Many of These Songs Being Handed Directly to Her. Invariably Sylvia Would Then Create the Definitive Version; Establishing the Exact Mood in which These Historic Compositions Should Be Sung.

Sylvia "Marathon" Nirvana

(5 out of 5 stars)

"THis is the CD to get if you are on a budget and don't already have "It might as well be Spring" and "The Music of Mr. Jobim" as it contains all the tracks from both of those 2 Albums for a nice long 24 song marathon.Really not a bad song in the bunch!..I prefer Sylvia singing in her native Portuguese ,HOWEVER,her english opens up a whole new dimension to that beautiful soothing voice .Her command of the english language is definite and charming..and somtimes I can't make up my mind how I'd like her to sing..and isn't that just like Sylvia to be able to give us the best of both worlds???..Cover booklet contains some rare interesting studio photos of Sylvia also...Worth every penny!!"
