Advanced Warning

"It seems that our little secret from Chicago is about to get out. I've had an advanced copy of this little ditty for a while now, and trust me. . ..it's good. I'm psyched when the iPod finds a track. A true favorite. There just isn't anyone writing songs like this these days. . .take "Cook County" for example: Haunting, Desperate, Beautiful and just plain ol' scary. And these guys live. . .(insert profanity here)! If you're in town, check `em out.. You will not be disappointed. . They blow the roof off every time they play. Oh yea, they like to drink whiskey. . So buy 'em a round! By the way, where is Arleen? - b"
Proof that country is not a dirty word
Laura Weinstein | Belfast, Ireland | 11/09/2005

"I am so glad this has been reissued because the Siderunners are making the hottest music you'll find anywhere today. They come from the Chicago punk rock scene and inject that energy into what would probably be called 'hard country.' The lyrics are brilliant and you'll have these melodies in your head for days--especially "Countin' Threes" and "Kansas City Weekend." "Just Nuts" is an insightful political tune, "You'll Be the Death of Me" is a great ballad that lets Sappy show of his singing skills, and "Halo To a Noose" is exceedingly clever. The duet 'Walkin Papers' is a lovely, understated finish to the album, which is fantastic from start to finish; I wouldn't skip a single track. And make sure you see these guys live, you won't be disappointed."

"This cd is great. I first heard about it from a friend and was surprised how good it is. Great songwriting. fun songs. Actually sounds like an artist created it and that it wasn't written by the Nashville 3000 LyriCreator Machine that seems so popular now. And the band sounds like they really enjoy playing their own music. Can't wait for the video!"
