Bassey Belts The Best !!!!!!!!

"Treasures abound in this fantastic, surprisingly low-priced collection. Most of these songs were previously unavailable on CD. Bassey is always a joy to listen to and there are some killers here! Her brassy take on "The Man That Got Away", her full-throated reading of "The Sound of Music" and her incredible rendition of Irving Berlin's "You Can Have Him". I pity the poor gent who inspired her passionate performance on "Excuse Me", the rueful lament of the cast-aside lover. Also featured here are two of her finest ballads ever: "Someday" and "If We Only Have Love" both from her superb AND I LOVE YOU SO album.It doesn't stop there, "Something's Coming" from West Side Story, "The Hungry Years", "If", and "Pieces Of Dreams" are all fantastic. There are 30 stellar, hard-to-find performances here from one of the great voices of popular music. A dream for fans and bargain at any price."

"This is an excellent 2 cd set, with lots of tracks on cd for the first time. Best "new" to cd are "If" "The Hungry Years" "Stargazer" "Without You" and the great "Someday" from the And I Love You So album. A great 2CD for new and old fans"

"Wow, what a great double CD set. This album features some songs that were never released previously on CD. It's a fine thing that they have rescued some of these songs from the vaults.
Shirley is sounding superb on "The Sound Of Music", "Stargazer" & the (2) rare versions of "This is My Life". She sounds haunting in "Excuse Me" taken from (Something Else) & J. Brel "If we Only Have Love" (Quand On N'A Que L'Amour) taken from "And I Love you So).
Shirley is timeless! Strongly Recommended."
