Synopsis

Album Description
2008 collection from the Scottish songbird, a selection of Sheena's finest recordings from her years with EMI, 1979-83, When she first hit the music scene three decades ago, her image was cute and sweet and musical output was perfectly poptastic. This collection takes the listener on a joyride during this particular period in her career, commonly referred to as her BSW years (i.e.: Before 'Sugar Walls', her Prince-produced slice of naughtiness!). 20 tracks including 'Morning Train (Nine To Five)', 'Modern Girl', 'Almost Over You', 'Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair' and more including two 1979 demos. EMI Gold.

CD Reviews

Great set list for Easton fans...
G. Donald | Inland Mendocino County, Ukiah, Ca. | 10/29/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I suppose I am writing this to counter the previous review by M. Vanderhoef. To that writer I have to ask, have you ever heard the saying: "If you have nothing good to say, keep your mouth shut?" If Ms. Easton was "not such a great singer," how, I wonder, did she win the talent contest that brought her to America in the first place. How, I wonder, did she end up with several very successful albums and tours. What Vanderhoef refers to as a shrilling voice is respectfully known as a "Soprano" to people who truly appreciate and actually know a little bit about music. Sure, I love Sarah Brightman, Johnny Mathis, Barbra Streisand and many other of the "great voices," but to dismiss Sheena as untalented and not a very good singer is, well, only something someone who knows nothing about music would say. By the way, how is your voice, M. Vanderhoef?

I say, "Go Sheena!""
