"Below Sea Level is Canadian Jazz Guitarist Shan Arsenault's second full-length recording. Shan's latest release features ten of his original compositions for jazz guitar trio and quartet. The trio compositions Whether or Not, Lucky Seven, The Truce and 3 Steps are mainstream jazz. Just Sayin' Zoll is a bebop tune based on Rhythm Changes. Quartet tunes Below Sea Level, Melted Ice Cream, and Pretty Boy are groove-based/contemporary. Broken Strings is a ballad and the lilting Walt's Waltz rounds out the program.
