CD ReviewsA different sound from the Shadows 07/30/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "The sound on this album is a little raspier than earlier recordings. With Bruce Welch not in on the session, there is an unusual amount of keyboard work. After this album the Shadows became Marvin, Welch and Farrar and focused on close-harmony vocals (excellent recordings if you can get your hands on them). Then they returned to instrumental work and kept recording until 1990. Lead guitarist Hank Marvin made several solo albums in the 90's and now with a Shadows tour coming up in 2004, hope returns for a new Shadows album. "Shades of Rock" is excellent."
