2010 release from the award-winning British singer/songwriter. Seth Lakeman crafts delicate songs full of haunting lyrics and simple, atmospheric melodies. Lakeman was formerly a member of folk-band Equation--which also included British Folk stars Cara Dillon, Kate Rusby, and Kathryn Roberts as well as Seth's brothers Sam and Sean--but when that band split, Lakeman retreated to his native Dartmoor where he set about recording the album Kitty Jay in his kitchen. Mixing original material with traditional tunes, the album was inspired by the myths and legends surrounding Dartmoor. Kitty Jay was completed on a minuscule budget and was nominated for the 2005 Mercury Music Prize. Virgin.
