"This cd is worth it for the song Farewell alone, which Sergio wrote for his late wife. There are two versions on here - a duo version and a solo version. The duo version uses the two guitars to best advantage with harmonies and some moderate interplay, but the solo version is where the heart is. You can just picture the lone guitarist pouring out his heart into his instrument - the delicacy and nuance of the performance is sublime, and that the theme of the movie is about two boys who eventually deal with the death of an old man who was their friend just drives it home.



Not that the whole cd is a downer! Many of the tunes display the virtuosity and interplay the duo is famous for. And Sergio is a genius composer for guitar. Many world class performers play his pieces and would do well to add some from this suite. All the songs are very melodic and listenable and the titles are descriptive as well. Definitely one of my favorite guitar cds."
