Masterpiece!

"Yes the king serge, and his queen Jane... This has to be one of the greatest albums of all time... Easily one of the top Serge releases. Needless to say what you have here is sophisticated "orchestral" pop on a level seldom touched by mere mortals outside of the beatles or possibly the zombies. This record isn't as funk heavy as his later releases (melody nelson pour example) or as wacked out as "the man with a cabbage head" .. this is more of a cerebral adult kind of pop music. But still packs some amazing bass riffs and killer drums (namely annee erotique)... Serges vocals are so high in the mix you can almost hear the beard stubble on the mic, and Birkin sounds like she's ready to cry on about every track... amazing and essential..."
