CD Reviews

I self rocks for the masses, not to mention abilities also.

"If you like the Micranots get this and you will thank me later. This almost feels like a sequal to Obilesque Movements except for DJ Abilities beats are a little different from Cool Hakeems, not too much just a tiny bit. Let me put it this way ISelf Divine still delivers with the urgency if not more, that he displayed on Obilesque Movements and Abilities Drum heavy beats are perfectly suited for his rhymes. If you ever listened to Eyedea and Abilities first born you can understand how bad some of DJ Abilities production can be, on this album he didnt use any garbage beats everything is well crafted. ISelf Divine is nasty as hell, he never sounds lazy on the mic he puts everything into his delivery and rhymes about real issues. I cant wait to see the Micranots live along with Atmosphere, Oddjobs, and Brother Ali in New York for the Seven's Travels Tour.Check this out."
You've heard of slept on albums, but none take the cake like

"This is the only collaboration ever of I Self Devine & Dj Abilities & if you are not too familiar with underground hip hop, I Self Devine is from the Micranots which is Devine duo'd with another cold Dj/Producer (Dj Kool Akiem), and Dj Abilities is a Dj/producer from the rap duo Eyedea & Abilites, and is to me & millions other folks arguably one of the sickest Dj/Producers hip hop has period. The Anti-Album has somewhat of a modernized early 90's sound & I Self Devine leaves behind dozens upon dozens of jewels, rhymes, and prolific qoutes over Abilities' sample riddled, percussion filled breakbeats & skillful scratching that this is easily one of his best. Movie audio excerpts from Beat Street & other films are tossed in the melting pot also. I can definately say that this is one only the true heads will appreciate. The Anti-Album is truly a wonderful way to introduce you to these two artists, so buy it and experience the essence of true hip hop in it's most raw un-diluted form.

PS: MF DOOM is on "Songs In The Key Of Trife" and spits one hilarious verse lol.
