CD Reviews

Great recording of mainly traditional classical saxophone
Saxophonist | Chicago, IL United States | 07/15/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"There are other recordings of the Desenclos and Bonneau pieces out there, but Hester's interpretations are worth listening to. The Desenclos is a piece where no two performers play it alike, and Hester brings yet another superb and flawless approach to a beautiful work. I also enjoyed the H. Benne Henton Caprices. I am not aware of any other recordings of these, and they are short, light pieces that I intend to include in my repertoire. Seasons is not a groundbreaking cd, but as Hester explains in the liner notes, it brings together music that he has enjoyed playing during the past 30 years. Hester's beautiful tone and musicality make this a cd worth purchasing."
