Like the Beatles, the Searchers Emerged from the Liverpool Scene of the Early 60's. Their First Recording for Pye Records, "Sweets for My Sweet", Raced Straight to the Top of the Pops. They Followed it with the Sonny Bono Penned "Needles and Pins" and "Don't Throw Your Love Away", and Thus Began their Incredible String of Hits. "Sugar and Spice" Had Been Written by Tony Hatch (Writer of Many of Petula Clark's Great Hits, under the Pseudonym Fred Nightingale) and Only Hit #2.
