A few reworkings of a great song.

"Seal is one of my favorite contemporary artists and has been since I first heard the amazing "Crazy" so many years ago. His first CD is one of my all time favorites so anything that he does is held to an almost impossible standard. His most recent release (Seal V) is one of his finest, and the remixes coming from it are as good as they get. "Waiting For You," like the first single ("Get It Together") are worth every penny, especially if you like to mix your own selections. Note that unlike "Get It Together", this release does not have the original single, but 5 versions of the original song.Mix 1 is a hard guitar-driven house mix that slows down and picks right up hitting hard through the very end. Mix 2 is also hard hitting house but with some cool heavenly echoes, drums and a constant groove from beginning to end. Mix 3 has a acid house feel to it and does some interesting things with Seal's voice as it almost sounds like a programmed instrument (and I mean this in a good way), the comes the choruses. All in all, it's a very contagious mix although not the most innovative of the bunch.My favorites by far are mixes 4 & 5. Mix 4 which has that "Killer"-like riff at the beginning and slowly builds and has Seal right and center. What I like most about it is that it takes it's time and has some retro production touches that got my attention. Mix five combines some of the elements of Mix 4 but house it up to energetic highs.Although I recommend this Maxi-CD single, especially if it's not cost prohibitive, the mixes are not as diverse/original as those found in "Get It Together." I wish that there would have been a mix that stripped the song and worked around Seal and/or a nice tropical/disco feel; notwithstanding if you are a fan of remixes you'll find at least one that will make this a worthwhile purchase. Easily earns its 4 stars."
