Great CD!

"Road to Lisdoonvarna Castle is an excellent CD by Scott Williams. This CD is definetly for anyone in the mood for a traditional midieval/renaissance sound. The hammered dulcimer produces the soothing sounds for most of this CD and is a remarkable instrument. I just purchased this CD from Scott Williams himself during the Las Vegas Renaissance Festival. A must have for anyone looking for a relaxing piece to sit at home next to the fire with."

"I happened upon Scott Williams some 3 years ago at a Street Fair in San Diego and was immediately taken with this instrument...the Hammered Dulcimer...which I'd never heard of or seen before. The sounds that came out were heavenly...delightful...pleasing in every way. I thought the CD was a bit over-priced ($15.00), but I know that independent musicians have to cover costs...so I bought it.

Of all the tracks on this heavily-played CD, number 3 is my favorite. It's a wonderful tune called "Black Bird" and just hearing it makes you happy. You simply can't keep from smiling when you hear this melody...it's as upbeat a song gets.

The other stand-out is Harvest Home...a horn pipe which Scott plays incredibly well...the runs on the treble bridge at the end of the chorus are jaw-dropping.

I also enjoy Whiskey in the Morning and the Kesh Jig, which, interestingly, can be heard on the movie Titanic when Rose and Jack first go to the party "below decks" in steerage.

Lastly, I wanted to comment on the exquisite production quality. Rarely do you hear a recording that so perfectly produced...the tracks almost jump out of your speakers and his backup tracks are so perfect...they almost sound "canned", but we know that he plays and records all of his own backups on various celtic instruments. What a musician.

I'm hoping to run into Scott Williams again in the future...maybe I'll see him at another street fair. This CD is a wonderful addition to any music lovers collection. You'll wear it out...trust me."
