Boulder, CO musicians Scott Johnson and Mark Oblinger wanted to do something positive and see if popular music could actually make a difference in the quality of people?s lives.Funded mainly by a $10,000 investment from a couple Johnson met while playing his music at a workshop in 2002, New Voices New World is the first of a series that will provide musicians a place to express ? in a positive, constructive way ? the kind of world and future they want to create. "This is music about what we are for, not what we are against," said Johnson.With a variety of musical styles ranging from pop, rock and blues, to jazz, Latin and Irish, New Voices New World features songs written by Johnson, produced by Oblinger (a former member of Firefall), and sung by five singers from the Boulder/Denver area.
