Carl Schuricht and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra give an excellent stereo performance of Bruckner's Symphony No. 3, recorded by EMI in the Musikvereinsaal in 1965 and remastered from the original EMI master tapes. This much sought after recording has been out of the catalogue for over 20 years. The Bruckner is coupled with Haydn's Symphony No. 86 with the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart recorded live in Stuttgart in 1954, an important addition to the conductor's discography as it represents Schuricht's first performance of the work.
