"Yes, that's what it is. The first 3 movements of the A minor are as incisive as one would like, inflected without being over-romantic. But the last movement is a bit sluggish. There's a payoff missing. And Death and the Maiden needed another go. This quartet should be played as a matter of life and death - but I've only heard the Busch do it that way. I'll keep trying...I remember loving my old Budapest LP for the A minor. But memory is fallible...Takacs?"
