Synopsis

Product Description
The Naxos Deutsche Schubert-Lied-Edition: Schubert set the poetry of over 115 writers to music.
The Deutsche Schubert-Lied-Edition presents all Schubert's Lieder, over 700 songs, grouped according to the
poets who inspired him. Thanks to Bärenreiter's Neue Schubert-Ausgabe (New Schubert Edition), Tübingen,
which uses primary sources, the performers have been able to benefit from the most recent research of the
editorial team. While Schubert's numerous works for male-voice ensembles were circulated widely, those for
female voices remained less well known, despite including several ambitious works of genius.

CD Reviews

Schubert Part Songs Vol. 2
09/27/2009
(3 out of 5 stars)

"While most fans of classical singing are very familiar with the german lieder of Schubert, they may not be familiar with the part songs of Schubert. These pieces

for mixed voices are lovely. There is a nice balance of individual voices so that no one part is overshadowed by another. This would be a perfect musical accompaniment to a lazy fall afternoon. The only nitpick I have is that I would have liked to see the texts of the individual pieces with the English translation in

the cd jacket."
