CD Reviews

"Bought this CD in March '04 on the Champs Elysees. It was moving like hotcakes, and for good reason. If you like tight and clear accompanyment, this will make you smile. You'll think you're hearing Les Paul on the Gibson and Joe Jackson on the Yamaha. Instrumental and vocal arrangements are cleverly juxtaposed, sometimes in brilliant opposition. No dead air, and no synthesizers. French lyrics are executed with an edge and soulfully. Most songs in major 7th, a few ballads in minors and 6ths. These fellows are highly skilled and their delivery is professional. Thank goodness for some real music."

"If you, as I do, like to listen to audio clips before buying, you'll have to surf on over to Amazon France to listen for this CD. Go figure..."

"Sanseverino is a bloody genius at conjuring compellng new music from familar genres while snarkily alluding to more obscure influences - from traditional musette through le jazz hot by way of neo-gypsy and Louie Prima, with glancing references to iconoclasts Dan Hicks and Karl Zero. You think I exaggerate? Listen and smile. This is definitely a CD worth repeated playings. Pure unadulturated, nicotine-saturated pleasure for those of us who can't afford to loll about in those louche Parisian lounges."
