Great performance but bad MP3 downloads

"This recordings of Scheidt's "Ludi Musici" ought to rank among the very best on the market. The ensemble is top rate and their interpretation is most pleasing. As an experienced Cornetto player myself I very much admire "Les Sacqueboutiers" because they perform with a comfortable smooth sound similar the Hesperion XX. I now own all recordings by Les Sacqueboutiers.



I had problems with the Amazon MP3 download in spite of Amazon's attempt to help me. Customer service allowed me to download a second time after I discovered technical faults in the first download. The second has the same dropouts - clearly visible by using Sony Sound Forge. I plan to contact Amazon again to inform them of the problem with this particular download. The problem appears to be at the source not in my PC since the noises occur at exactly the same places in both downloads. For example, the well known "Canzone Cornetto" has dropouts at exactly 2, 6, 14, 18, 21, 27,31, 33.5, seconds and much more in this 3:30 long piece. The Sony sound Forge sine wave image combined with simply listening to the download provide the data for the pervious statement.



I like this performance very much and decided to purchase the physical item to replace the faulty MP3 download. In my experience this is the only problem I have had with Amazon's MP3 download system, all other downloads I have purchased are perfectly fine."
