Album Description Samite's early instruction from his Grandfather on the traditional flute instilled in him a great love and talent for the music of his people, the Baganda. Away from his native Uganda, Samite repeatedly turns to music, the sounds of his culture, for a sense of home. Today, Samite looks to children, to their smiles and to the joy that endures despite their suffering all over the world. Children hold our hope for the future, they need a safe and gentle place where they can grow, sing and dance. "Kambu Angels" is a shimmering tribute to a group of young orphaned boys in West Africa being raised in such a place. Like these boys, children everywhere deserve a chance to be a part of creating a more peaceful world. Samite's music today includes other native instrments including the kalimba (finger piano) and his own voice. It is Samite's voice that drives this album, and draws you in.
