CD Reviews

Good band from across the seas

"A great band from Norway. This was the initial ep release to the short lived band Salt. Having met each other at a school of art, 3 friends decided to start up a grunge band. After moderate airplay and great live performance, Salt was picked up and was marketed towards an american audience. The only problem was that this group were playing grunge music while this genre was fading out. I remember hearing the song "BLUSTER" seldomly pop up on the radio. I think that this group would have had great popularity had they been marketed correctly. The songs BLUSTER and LIDS both appear on the full length album AUSCULTATE that came out a year later. Their final album DELAY ME DOWN AND MAKE ME WAH-WAH is a rarity. The other two songs on this album are on this album only. When Salt group broke up, the lead singer Nina Ramsby joined in with two freinds of hers to create the trip-hop/drum n' bass group BAXTER. The myth is that after sending numerous Baxter demos out, Madonna got a hold of it and had a talent scout find them and sign them to her label immediately.
Most people that I know who love this Ep and SALT'S Lp, love BAXTER. Baxter's Self titled album is definately worth checkikng out. Baxter split up in late 1998 and Nina Joined again another band called GRAND TONE MUSIC. I've tried to track a Grand Tone album down , but ti's impossible to find in the united states.
I would definately reccomend this album to any grunger or noise rocker. Any album by nthis band is a must."
