CD ReviewsNothing wrong with this stuff Canyon | Portland, OR | 05/20/2007 (4 out of 5 stars) "The local Baroque Orchestra has played scattered Saint-George pieces every couple of years. Their last performance of Symphonie Concertante in G Major (that isn't included here or on the set) was so interesting I started to look at other work and got the 5 CD set that this is part of. Of the five, and as of one listening, this stood out the most. The recordings appear to be done a decade ago and are from a previous release I believe. Everything is sharp, great tempos and real solid sound. Music is enjoyable to listen to throughout. Saint-George gets referred to as the Black Mozart, which of course is not true, music is not of that caliber. Actually, however, you could almost get away with saying he's the French Mozart. I don't know of any French concertos from this period that are this good."
