Victor de Sabata demonstrated us once more his majuscule stature as director with this curious version of the "Pastoral Symphony" which although to be extremely fast to my taste, still maintains that pristine noblesse and vital expression.

Brahms' Fourth Symphony; under De Sabata baton acquires a gratifying vision hovered by a "Mediterranean nostalgia" that enriches notably the score and expands new horizons around one the most difficult Symphonies to conduct ever written

Wagner's "Tristan and Isolde" is extraordinary and absorbing, filled of expression and Dionysian paganism.

The Eroica is the weakest Op. of all the CD. I dislike the approach and conception of De Sabata. It lacks conviction, mercurial energy and sense of epic.
