"when looking at the personel on the jacket, i was frankly dissapointed that this was not the same configuration as his previous release for criss cross ("battle cry" / criss cross #1145- which i would give 5 stars) it is however the same lineup as 98's "the usual suspects" on fable (#54267) piano, bass, & drums as apposed to the unique organ, guitar & drums of "battle cry". nevertheless "point of arrival" still swings, whether it be the uptempo tunes or the ballads. kisor's playing is fluid and full sounding, in spite of his exposure through the lincoln center jazz orchestra he is still a player deserving wider recognition. i highly recommend this as well as "usual suspects" or "battle cry"."
