Album Description

The Ruts could and should have been contenders. Their debut album, The Crack, was one of the truly great Punk albums to emerge from the original wave of UK bands. With great singles like 'Babylon's Burning' and 'In A Rut', they were tapped to be the next big thing. Unfortunately, they had a doomed lead vocalist, Malcolm Owen, seriously hooked on heroin and he wouldn't live to see the completion of a second album. (Heroin is a sure-fire way to kill a career, literally and figuratively). This UK compilation includes all their UK hits, B-sides and key album tracks plus detailed sleeve notes. Such a great band, such a pity!

"One of the greats of punk this band should be up there with the Clash. Great mix of punk and reggae here with "Staring at the Rude Boys" being probably one of the all time classic punk tracks.

Pretty much all of their greatest songs are on this one including a nice little inner sleave telling you a little about the band and their history.

Well worth buying, check out the Redskins if you like this one."
