CD Reviews

Skynyrd no - Dale YES!

"I've never been a big Skynyrd fan, so I can't compare the two. I just know when I heard Dale Krantz - Rossington's amazing voice belting out the lyrics of Welcome Me Home on the radio, I knew I had to find out more about this band.

Like the previous reviewer stated, this is a more polished 80's style effort, but you won't be disappointed. Reading more about the band, Dale has been compared to Joplin. It's a fair one, but I would add that she is a gritty Southern version of Ann Wilson. This cd shows her off in much more than a background role. It's a shame that the Skynyrd reunion stole the thunder from this release - it deserved more. Now only available as an Import, you get a couple of live tracks as a bonus. Sample it - especially if you are a fan of good guitar driven rock, strong female leads, and Skynyrd."

"Ok when I listen to Gary Rossington, I expect to hear bluesy boogie, boogie guitar licks. Now I don't expect it to sound just like Skynyrd, or RCB, but you are what you are. I'm all toward a musician growing and progressing musically, but there is something just not right about this recording. It just sounds a bit too polished, to typically 80's. I love the 70's Skynyrd, and some of the new Skynyrd too. But I just can't get into this. the best song of the cd is the live version of "Don't Misunderstand me""
